Hunting at Emaweni
Emaweni with its hills, steep slopes and thickly wooded ravines along with open sweet thornveld plains, provide ideal habitat for numerous species of game. In addition to the 3,000 hectare of Emaweni we also hunt on some neighboring farms giving us access to about 6,000 hectare continuous hunting area. Together with the areas of some partner farms we can in total offer 11,000 hectares of hunting area.
With 6 miles of Thukela River frontage, deep thickly wooded valleys and riverine bush, it is thorough wilderness, providing an abundant variety of ideal browse and grazing to form the best habitat for South Africa's premier trophy, the magnificent Nyala, as well as the worlds best quality Cape Bushbuck and a good selection of plains game including Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, Mountain Reedbuck and others.
Hunting at Emaweni will always take place under guidance by an experienced and licensed professional hunter either as a 1x1 or a 2x1 safari.
The typical safari duration is 5, 7 or 10 days depending on your trophy list.
Due to the fact that the formalities to get a tempory import permit for rifles at the Johannesburg airport are pretty heavy, we recommend to use one of our rifle, which you can hire at Emaweni.
